B - Bucket Lists

What is a bucket list you may ask yourself. A bucket list is a list you make of all the things you want to do before you kick the proverbial bucket. There was a very poignant film created called The Bucket List with actors Jack Nicholson and Samual L Jackson and it prompted my own bucket list.

My list comprises mainly if places in the world I want to see, but does include other things.

Here is just a taster of my quite large bucket list-

1. Write a novel and have it published (with all the steps in-between)

2. Get a degree in earth sciences

3. Visit Iceland and stay in an ice hotel

4. Walk on the great wall if China

5. Visit New York

6. Swim with dolphins

What six things would you put on your bucket list?

  1. I'll steal a couple of yours but these aren't in any particular Oder

    1. Write a novel and get it published/screenplay and get it produced
    2. swim with Dolphins
    3. Get married to a lovely man and have scrummy children
    4. See the Northern Lights (with aforementioned man maybe)
    5. Go to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (and see the last film)
    6. I suppose I best put on here get my PhD

    Thanks for sharing

  2. Kirsty - Seeing the Northern lights is also on my list! Amazing aren't they. Good luck with your list!

  3. Ooh, an ice hotel! That sounds... exciting, actually.

My life has become very focused on the present moment lately, mostly due to things outside my control, so I find it difficult to ponder big dreams. Instead I set my sights on small, manageable tasks.

I will admit though.. I've always wanted to see the pyramids.

  4. I love that movie! :)

As for me, I feel lucky to already have accomplished some of the things I've always wanted to do, such as getting married and having a child, and actively writing and being published. Also, one of my goals was to play with tigers, and I got to do that - it was awesome!

Some things I'd like to do now are:

    -Visit Scotland

    -Visit Japan

    -Become efficient in speaking Japanese

-Go to the Harry Potter Themepark in Orlando

-Write lots more books and have them published

I'm thinking of doing the dolphin thing in a few weeks! It looks too awesome to pass up, I think!

  5. I really only have one thing I'd really like to do and that's go to Scotland. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

  6. Hope you manage all of those, Rebecca. Good Luck!

  7. Great list! Novels and degrees are biggies. I wish you a ton of luck meeting your goals!

  8. Hmmm... so many things to choose from:

    1) Write a book and get it published.
    2) See the world.
    3) Get on stage.
    4) Completely control my phobias.
    5) Go to the olympics.
    6) Do drav maga...

Yeah... I've got strange tastes. ;-)

  9. Nice list. Mine changes from time to time, but being published and having music on the radio are my top artistic desires. Having healthy, happy children are my most important human desires. Then, yeah, George Clooney. Ahem.

  10. This comment has been removed by the author.

  11. It was a great movie, indeed!
My bucket list would include publishing a novel and touring England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
    Thanks for the follow! :)

  12. Definitely finish editing my first book and start querying is top of my list.

And I love swimming with dolphins and the Ice Hotel - both would be on my bucket list.

Along with a beach hut somewhere in the Carribbean or the Indian Ocean. ;-)

  13. 1. Visit every continent
    2. Do that thing where you jump in a frozen lake in the middle of winter
    3. Bicycle across Canada
    4. Write a book
    5. Swim the English Channel
    6. Re-enact the Motorcycle Diaries across South America

  14. I don't have a bucket list, but I like the ice hotel idea!

  15. Actually writing out my bucket list is what got me started on my novel (sort of). My list is so long I'm going to need to live until I'm 150.

  16. Ok this is a great post and a great day for me to find you. Ok here we go with my 6 I might surprise myself:

    1. Get into skywalker ranch
    2. go to new zealand to visit the hobbit filiming site
    3. go to california and visit the fliming site for return of the jedi
    4. go to the wizarding world of harry potter
    5. go to san diego comic con
    6. become a professional blogger or fansite writer

  17. Wow! That is indeed quite the bucket list! I haven't actually thought my through in detail, but I would like to see the Amazon.

  18. It wasn't Samuel L Jackson, it was Morgan Freeman!

    1. Write loads of books and be published, with die-hard fans waiting for each one to come out.

    2. Visit New Zealand.

    3. Visit Canada.

    4. Swim with dolphins.

    5. Own a pet wolf.

    6. Finish my degree.

    7. Have my whole family happy.

  19. India - the pyramids are also on my list. We went to Egypt a couple of years ago but never made it to the pyramids as my youngest was small and it would have been a long hot day for him. I do intend to go though.

Ranae - You've played with Tigers?! Wow, I'm impressed and ever so slightly envious. That might have to go on my list!

Bish - Scotland is supposed to be a beautiful country. My youngest wants to go to Loch Ness and look for Nessie so we may make it up there at some point.

    Thanks Carole.

Thanks Hart. They do seem to be on a few bucket lists. Great goals to aim for :)

Misha - Wishing you lots of luck with those. They certainly aren't strange tastes. I'm aiming definitely trying for number one.

Amy - George Clooney, mm, yes please!

Catherine - I hope you manage to do those one day.

Talei - Now they are beautiful places for a beach hut. Good luck with goal one!

Austin - Number 2 is a very brave thing to do never mind have on a list of things you want to do! I wish you luck with it :)

Baygirl - I've seen images of the Ice hotels a couple of times now and they really are beautiful to look at. I'd love to do it.

Kari - I know that feeling. My bucket list feels never ending, but I'm definitely going to have a go at completing it :)

Teresa - They are great goals. Wishing you lots of luck with them.

Talli - The Amazon looks stunning, but I'd be scared of the massive spiders in and around it!

Nicolette - Apologies, my mistake. That will teach me not to check my facts before I blog. Loving the die hard fans of number 1!

  20. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Great list there, I think mine would be:

    1. Getting my novel edited and published.

    2. See my children happy and settled in their lives.

    3. Travel to New Zealand.

    4. Overcome my fear of water.

    5. Do one thing that is crazy, like absailing down a mountain or something.

    6. Live in Scotland for a while.

  21. I need to live for hundreds of years because my bucket list includes visiting every country!

Thanks for sharing yours and it's nice to meet you!

  22. Iceland and the ice hotel makes me cold just thinking about it. :D Hope you manage to do all that's on your list.

I'd love to visit Egypt and Japan.

Writing a bestseller would be wonderful too.

  23. I need to write out a bucket list I think. I have lots of things in my head that I want to do, but haven't put them down.
I found you on the A-Z challenge

  24. Awesome list. I can't think of anything for a list except getting a book (more than one) published.

    W.I.P. It: A Writer's Journey

  25. I want to visit Italy. I'm part of an Italian family, though much of the culture was never passed to my brother and I. There are some other places I'd like to visit as well, but Italy is probably the most important to me.

  26. I've always thought I'd like to do the ice hotel, too, but I get cold even in the summer. I think I'd chicken out!

A book is on my bucket list, too. I look forward to hearing more about your crime writing!

  27. Endure to the end. That's all. (Well, I guess and enjoy having my book published.)

Coming over to meet you from your comment on my B post, I just read about Ehlerss-Danlos Syndrome. Hyperelastica. It sounds a bit scary.

Life in Clarity. I like your blog title. For me that's seeing what I can and can't control, and being as cheerful and as patient as I can be with life's afflictions. There IS joy to be found in the most difficult of trials.

    I'm happy to meet you!

  28. This isn't something I've ever thought about. Maybe I should go and compile one now.

    Good luck with your list.
