This coming weekend is Easter weekend. A time when the big white bunny with the floppy ears creeps (or is that hops?) into your home and leaves big chocolaty eggs covered in pretty shiny wrapping, for the kids in the house.
The problem is I have a slight addiction to egg shaped chocolate. Yes, I'm a chocoholic anyway, but make it egg shaped and I can't say no. I've been doing really well on my diet recently and I've lost half a stone in the last six weeks. come Sunday though, I will turn into a demented egg drooler, resorting to secretly breaking bits off the childrens eggs if the bunny doesn't fetch me my own.
What food drives you to distraction and will you be indulging this Easter?
I too have sneaky bits of the kids eggs. I justify my actions purely on the fact that they get far too many. It is nothing at all to do with me being a chocoholic ;)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your weight loss! Chocolate is my weakness to - I cannot resist it!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I'm convinced egg-shaped chocolate tastes different from regular chocolate. Convinced.
ReplyDeleteChocolate. Anything chocolate and I'm doomed.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Christine - the chocolate tastes different. I also love hot cross buns, but cold and unbuttered so they're just a big doughy, sticky mess in my mouth!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss!
Chocolate fan here!! It's my downfall! But when it comes to candy only found at Easter time, I'd have to admit it's those darn candy coated Cadbury Mini Eggs.
ReplyDeleteStopping by via the A - Z link up, following you with, gfc, twitter, pinterest and sent fb request.
If you'd like stop by my blog at http://www.scatteredmusings.net/2012/04/buying-car/ (it's a combined B-C-D post)
Wifey and I are watching what we eat, but we will indulge in food and some chocolate this Sunday.
ReplyDeleteHow could one resist sneaking bits off the Easter eggs? We're dieting here to but Sunday will definitely be a day off. Visiting you via the A to Z challenge from up on Haliburton Hill.
ReplyDeleteRight, don't come to my blog today. It's a recipe for chocolate covered peanut butter eggs. But I'll be snacking on peeps (though when I was a kid it was cadbury eggs) and lamb! Yum yum.
ReplyDeletegosh, I know I'm ADD so most thngs drive me to distraction...actually I'm not but I teach kids who are and I think it has worn off on me!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what I will be indulging in this weekend is peeps and Brach's jelly beans as well as malted milk eggs and Reese's peanut butter eggs :) YUM!
Peeps and jelly beans used to be my favorites, but I'm one of those strange folks who has moved away from almost all sweets and since I'm a tad allergic to some component in chocolate, am "saved" from chocolate addictions (did I really just type that! -- wait, wait, don't come running after me...) :)
ReplyDeleteSo be away from the Easter bunny :-)
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I love Barfi (an Indian sweet)
I'm a chocoholic too! But I do tend to try not to get myself an egg, and nick bits of the kids :D
ReplyDeleteI've been good at staying away from Easter candy during my adulthood so there aren't any chocolates that distracts me nor that I indulge in just for the sake of Easter. Now, I will say, however, that I've was a sucker for chocolate bunnies when I was a kid. I'd eat the ears and then would have no use for the bodies. On occasion, I do tend to like those pastel colored M&Ms and jelly beans...the good kind, not the cheap kind, lol.

Chocolate? Say no more.....
ReplyDeleteRiya
I'm not too bad with chocolate these days, however I've turned into someone who just can't get enough cake!
ReplyDeleteIts very addictive as more and more home bakes are appearing in cafes and tearooms all over the place.
I don't care what shape the chocolate is, just watch me inhale it :-)
ReplyDeleteGreat Entry, unfortunately I am a chocoholic too and shape doesnt really matter, but my favourite Easter Eggs come in a little purple Egg carton and are from Milka. It's a hollow egg with a fluffy cream filling. Not gooey like the Cadbury eggs, not as chewy as the marshmellow eggs, just perfect. They come with a little purple spoon so you can eat them like real eggs. YUMMY~
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter. Ours in Cyprus is next week. I have lost a stone and a half since NYear, and my focus was chocolate at Easter. Now my sweet tooth is not so strong, but I will will still enjoy that chocolate. Enjoy yours and well done on the weight loss, Rebecca.
